There’s something mysterious about purple, the way it can feel both captivating and calming. It draws you in and makes you want to linger. In this painting, sprigs of lavender spill out of a small glass bottle beside a rough piece of amethyst, all set against a warm, soft background.
This is my first still life since setting up a proper studio corner at home. Painting indoors again gave me a new set of details to slow down and really look at: the way light passes through the glass, the texture and unevenness of the crystal, and the delicate softness of the lavender heads.
