I painted this baby portrait as a commission for a dear friend. What first caught my eye was the beautiful light on his face—warm and dappled beneath the trees, gently catching his cheeks and forehead while the grass around him rested in soft shadow. His smile felt so full of life that I wanted the light to reflect that same warmth.
This piece was such a joy to paint, and it means so much to know that it would become a small part of their everyday life.
